Every photograph is taken in the same room: a shaded pavilion behind a family compound on Jl. Pasar in Sanur, with six benches, a hand-cranked rolling mill, and a wall of files, stamps and mandrels our smiths have been using for years.
The silver arrives as flat sheet and round wire. In these frames you can watch it annealed on the brick, sawn to shape, hammered over a mandrel, soldered closed with a torch, cleaned, tumbled and finally polished. Most of the pieces here took between one and two hours from start to finish.
The trays of coloured stones are the add-on most guests notice first: zirconia, garnet, moonstone, turquoise and the rest, IDR 200K each and set into your own piece before you leave the bench.
If you would rather see the room before you book anything, come and look. We are open every day from 9am to 5pm and there is no obligation to sit down.
