Make your own silver ring in Sanur, Bali

Four classes, one to two hours each
Every price includes the silver or brass, every tool, a Balinese silversmith beside you and water at the bench.

A Balinese silver workshop on Jalan Pasar, Sanur
Bintang Sanur Jewelry Workshop is a small, Balinese-owned studio a few streets back from Sanur beach. There are six benches and we only ever fill them with one group at a time, so a silversmith stays beside you for the whole session instead of circling a room. You shape, texture and solder .925 sterling silver with the same saws, files and torch our smiths use for their own work, and the piece is finished, polished and on you before you leave.

We also run a studio in Kuta. The classes are identical; the day around them is not.
Mostly families and couples
Parents with children who want a bench of their own, couples on a return trip, and guests settled in Sanur for a week or more. Very few people arrive here in a hurry.
Six benches, one group
We never run two groups at once. The smith stays with you, you can start a texture again if you hate the first one, and the room stays quiet enough to hold a conversation.
Ten minutes from the beach
Jl. Pasar, a few streets behind the Sanur beachwalk. Walk, cycle or take a five-minute ride from almost any Sanur hotel. The airport is roughly twenty-five minutes away.
What a silver class in Sanur actually involves
You arrive with an idea, or with nothing at all. We sketch it with you, measure your finger or your chain, then weigh out the silver in front of you so you can see exactly what you are working with.
The next hour is hands-on: sawing the shape, filing the edges, hammering a texture if you want one, and closing the join with a torch. Nobody has done this before and nobody needs to have. The tools are already set up and a Balinese silversmith works through each step with you, rather than demonstrating from the front of a room.
At the end the piece goes through the tumbler and the polishing wheel and comes back as something you can wear out of the door. Most guests are finished inside an hour and a half. If you want a stone in it, choose one from the tray and we will build the setting while you work; gold plating is the other add-on, applied after the final polish.
Classes run every day from 9am to 5pm, in English, from IDR 500K. Children from five years old have a class of their own, and we are glad to put a whole family on four benches at once.
